Nvidia RTX 4080 vs AMD RX 7900 XTX:
which GPU is better for you?
RTX 4080
RX 7900 XTX
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 returns in November 2022, followed by the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX in December 2022. Both cards deliver ultra-detailed 4K gaming with stunning performance across the board.
But both cards are significantly more precious than their forerunners due to coming-word performance. But if you want the performance of the RTX 4080 and Radeon RX 7900 XTX, you can slightly spend a thousand bucks on a single GPU, so you get what you pay for.
pricing of these GPUs:
This generation of graphics cards is becoming more and more expensive, with AMD and Nvidia increasing the prices of new products. This is particularly evident in the Nvidia RTX 4080 and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
Nvidia's RTX 4080 starts at $1,199, a huge jump from the $699 starting price of the RTX 3080. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is no exception, starting at $999. But that's just the base price per graphics card.
Currently, a single version of the RTX 4080 has an MSRP of $1,199, with other GPU versions hitting the $1,500 mark on Newegg. For that money, you might as well opt for the more powerful Nvidia RTX 4090.
Nvidia is not alone. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is also only available in one SKU on Newegg for $999, with a handful of 7900 XTX reaching $1,449. But unlike Nvidia, AMD does not offer a more powerful graphics card.
Either way, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, whichever version you get, will end up being more affordable than the RTX 4080.

Our Pick: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
It's hard to pick a clear winner between the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 and the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX. The right graphics card for you largely depends on your personal needs.
If you have the money, both cards offer an incredible PC gaming experience. But the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 supports DLSS, unlike the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX; it would complicate things if almost all modern GPUs didn't support FSR, but if you're using an AMD GPU, you won't be able to use most of the good graphics techniques.
From a raw value perspective, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is the better choice.
That's $200 less than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080. But if you've already spent $1,000 on a graphics card, you might as well buy the more sophisticated RTX 4080, which offers better ray-tracing performance. I just hope Nvidia doesn't raise prices as they did.
